Dismortal was originally started in 1999 in a small holiday town called Ballito on the north coast of South Africa. Their debut album “void” was released in 2005 under the South African metal label witch doctor records. Shortly after the release the band relocated to England to promote the album, however due to family obligations and visa restrictions two of the then three piece act (Troy Venter, Hein Abbot) returned to South Africa. This was pretty much the end of the road for the band until late 2013 when remaining member Daryll Smith started it up again with a new lineup. The band is currently recording a new album set for release in 2015, the album will be an independent release titled Rebirth. The album will be free for download on sites such as Reverb Nation and sound cloud.
